Barbara Bowen writes articles, essays, short stories, and novels.  She is an accomplished professional oboist who played and recorded with the Colorado Springs Symphony and other groups for nineteen years.  Drawing on her quirky fellow musicians and orchestral experiences, she created the mystery series, "Musical Murders."  Music is Murder, Ballistics at the Ballet, and Fireworks on the Fourth will be published by Camel Press (release date TBA).  She lives in Colorado, where she is a Reiki practitioner and yoga devotee. 


Her most recent articles and essays have been published in Unity Magazine and Daily Word, and include the 2018 Focus: Eddie Honorable Mention Article, "Letting Go with Grace."  Other articles have been published in the Colorado Springs Business Journal, Woodmen Edition, and One Voice Newsletter.
